Companion Living

Companion living provides personal care services by a caregiver for a resident of an assisted living community such as Grand Oaks or in the client’s home by a trusted home health agency such as VNA of Florida. Seniors in need of companion care are often capable of living independently, but require help with non-medical services called ADLs or Activities of Daily Living. Caregivers can also be an emotional support system for seniors who live on their own.

Non-medical services provided by caregivers can include:

  • Bathing
  • Grooming
  • Dressing
  • Light housekeeping
  • Linen changing
  • Meal prep
  • Medication reminders
  • Transportation
  • Managing appointments

At Grand Oaks, our caregivers assist residents with ADLs based on each resident’s individual required level of care. Levels of care are recognized by means of a functional assessment of resident ADLs. More information on levels of care can be found on our Costs FAQ page.

The VNA of Florida provides at-home personal care services by the hour, by the shift, or around the clock. Our caregivers develop custom personal care services plans to fit each client’s individual needs. All VNA employees are licensed and insured and have passed local, state, and federal background checks.
